New look and feel for the Cox Automotive sign-in screens!

We’re working a multi-step plan to make Cox Automotive products work better together. One key part of this plan is that one Bridge ID will work for all Cox Automotive products. Rolling out a common sign-in screen is the first step of rolling out Bridge ID. There will be further benefits as we make changes over the next year or so.

Q: Why does the sign-in screen look different?

A: We’re working a multi-step plan to make Cox Automotive products work better together. One key part of this plan is that one Bridge ID will work for all Cox Automotive products. This change to a common sign-in experience is the very first step of rolling out Bridge ID, and there will be further benefits as we make changes over the next year or so.

Q: Why doesn’t the sign-in screen remember my username and password?

A: Your dealership may be using a commercial password keeper like LastPass. If so, consulting that product’s support team or help documentation is your best avenue for how to manage your saved credentials. To get you started, here are a few helpful links for popular password keepers.

Q: Will the sign-in experience change for mobile devices like iPads?

A: Yes, this same common sign-in experience will be applied to mobile devices.

Q: I work at a large dealership and have a federated sign in, how does this impact me?

A: You will not be impacted. You will continue to sign in the same way you do today.

Q: Will my username or password change?

A: As part of this phase, you will use the same username and password you do today.

Q: Will the forgot username or forgot password functionality change?

A: All forgot username and forgot password functionality will remain the same for now.

Q: Will user administration change at all?

A: Users will be created and managed the same way they are today.

Q: Will my experience after I sign in change at all?

A: After providing your username and password on the new screens, you will be directed your Cox Application, and everything will work the same way it does today.

Q: I am a Bridge ID user. Where did my “Sign in with Bridge ID” link go?

A: As a benefit of this update, Bridge ID users will no longer need to click on a special link. You will enter your username on the new sign-in page, and behind the scenes, we will determine if you are a Bridge ID user.

Q: Can I still sign up for Bridge ID?

A: We are not changing the Bridge ID registration process with this phase.

Q: Will my bookmark to sign-in to my solution still work?

A: Yes. Bookmarks for any old sign-in pages will redirect to the new web address.

How to sign up?

Specific dealer users are being enabled to self-register for Cox Automotive Bridge ID in phases. Not all dealer users will be eligible to register at once. If you are eligible, you’ll see a button when you log into your legacy solution that will allow you to self-register.

Q: I have an existing Dealertrack Login ID?

A: If you have an existing Dealertrack Login ID, this will become your Cox Automotive Bridge ID when you register. You will have an opportunity to link your brand solution’s Login ID to your Cox Automotive Bridge ID moving forward.

Q: I don’t have a Dealertrack Login ID?

A: No problem. If you don’t have an existing Dealertrack Login ID, we will create one for you. This becomes your Cox Automotive Bridge ID. You will have an opportunity to link your brand solution’s Login ID to this new Cox Automotive Bridge ID moving forward.

Q: Why has Cox Automotive created Cox Automotive Bridge ID?

A: Cox Automotive, in partnership with its brands (aka solutions), created Cox Automotive Bridge ID to give our users single sign-on functionality to allow them to easily switch between their Cox Automotive solutions for their dealership.

Q: Since browsers can already save login credentials (i.e. Chrome), how does Cox Automotive Bridge ID provide an advantage to the end user?

A: One username and password is always easier to manage than multiple versions. Users have been asking us for this feature due to the pain of managing multiple logins.

Q: Is there any cost with signing up for Cox Automotive Bridge ID?

A: No. This is a complimentary benefit of our increasingly connected solutions groups.

Q: Who is eligible to self-register for a Cox Automotive Bridge ID?

A: Specific dealer users are being enabled to self-register for Cox Automotive Bridge ID through a controlled rollout. Not all dealer users will be eligible to register for Cox Automotive Bridge ID on day one. We will be adding dealer users through various phases of rollout.

Q: Where will I see the ability to self-register if my dealership has been enabled for one of the live solutions?

A: Users will see the ability to register once they have logged into their legacy solution. A button will appear to the user to begin self-registration.

Q: Will more Cox Automotive solutions be coming onto Cox Automotive Bridge ID?

A: Yes! We currently have functionality with Dealertrack F&I, DMS, Dealer.com, Homenet, Dealertrack Registration, VinSolutions, vAuto and Xtime solutions. Separate communications will be coming as more solutions become available. Stay tuned!

Q: Once I self-register, what changes?

A: The user will now be directed to login to a Cox Automotive Bridge ID branded login page. This page is different from their legacy solution login page. Once they log in using their Cox Automotive Bridge ID they will now see at the top of their view a new navigation bar called Cox Automotive Bridge ID Bar. This bar has several features they will use to switch between other solutions they registered with, change their password and logout.
