As part of a monthly series that profiles a wide variety of careers at Cox Automotive Canada, we sat down with Abby Haddad, Regional Director Eastern Canada, NextGear Capital Canada.

What inspired you to apply for your job at Cox Automotive Canada?

I was looking for an opportunity to work for a multi-national company, and one that encompasses the entire automotive industry. I don’t see myself working for just NextGear Capital Canada, but rather as a team member who is part of 10 different companies under the Cox Automotive Canada umbrella. The opportunities for personal growth within this organization are limitless.

What aspect of working at CAC most appealed to you?

We have a world-class team here, so I would have to say it’s the people. The level of competency, diversity, and background knowledge is unparalleled in the industry. I’m also a true believer that it is the people – your team members – who have the power to make or break a company. I would also have to say the technology innovation mindset that Cox Automotive encourages is something that really speaks to me. I want to work for a company with great long-term vision.

What makes you feel that the work you do at CAC contributes to the company’s overall success?

At NextGear Capital Canada, we contribute to the bottom success of the company with our proactive approach to financial lending. We work in a smart and effective manner to ensure we’re constantly growing the business. Our goal is to bring value to dealerships by tailoring solutions. I find it especially encouraging to see our clients’ businesses grow thanks to the assistance we provide, which is something our team is accomplishing one vehicle at a time.

In what ways does CAC inspire you to go above and beyond the call of duty?

Our team’s involvement with various corporate social responsibility initiatives makes me very proud.  Through Cox Cares – the cornerstone of our company’s corporate social responsibility program – we are given multiple opportunities to assist different organizations and help individuals in need within our communities. Our team members are ambassadors and volunteers who happily donate their time and resources. I love being part of a team that advocates for a high level of social responsibility.

What advice would you give a new CAC team member?

First, be the best you can be, and the company will reward you for it. Second, be involved with company affairs and treat every task like you’re doing it for your own personal company. Finally, be proud of the work you do for Cox Automotive Canada.

Cox Automotive Canada is a fast-paced, innovative, high-performance company to work for. There are tremendous opportunities for growth and improvement, and many positive experiences to be had along the way. The best aspect of working for Cox Automotive Canada would have to be my teammates and the leadership team who inspire all of us to be the best we can be.
