Career Spotlight: Laura Crozier

Being in the Auction industry for over 20 years, the greatest reward of my job is working with a great team of people, not only at my locations but nationally.

As part of a monthly series that profiles a wide variety of jobs at Cox Automotive Canada, we sat down with Laura Crozier, Commercial Accounts Administrator, Manheim Edmonton and Vancouver.

At a very high level, can you describe the role you play at CAC?

As a Commercial Accounts Administrator, I get to build relationships with our local and National clients and provide them with the best experience that Manheim and our products have to offer.  We really pride ourselves on providing a high level of service to all clients to help them grow their business.

What do you like most about your job?

Being in the Auction industry for over 20 years, the greatest reward of my job is working with a great team of people, not only at my locations but nationally.  With CAC, it does not matter which location you reside within, we have teams who can provide support when needed.

How does your work benefit CAC clients/customers?

Commercial Account Administrators are our clients’ eyes and ears and we have been entrusted to assist them in managing their assets on a monthly or yearly basis.  How we review their assets and the recommendations we provide ultimately allows our customers to buy with confidence. Our customers attend multiple auctions daily and weekly, so understanding their preferences and providing recommendations to use our different sales platforms to connect with specific buyers assists them in finding what they need and want at the dealerships.

Since joining CAC, have you had opportunities to expand your skill set and grow your career through any training, experiences or new roles?

Working with CAC, you can take multiple courses on our internal learning site.  After starting out in this career path many years ago, I now have vast knowledge of this industry and I have been able to join multiple projects, teach fellow employees the knowledge that I have gained over the years and also helped build a location from ground zero.

What makes you feel that the work you do at CAC contributes to the company’s overall success?

I am very proud to know that my efforts have been recognized within CAC. Like many others, our teams have gone through many changes over this past year, but we have persevered as a team and created a new direction and opportunities for clients and customers to do business. Adapting to changes and working remotely has made us stronger than ever.

What advice would you give a new CAC team member?

My advice to any new CAC member would be to learn all of our products, operating systems and work together within your team.  Set personal goals of what you would like to achieve but ensure that you keep a work-life balance. Be driven and ready to perform at a high-level and you will fit right in!

In 1-3 words, how would you describe working at CAC?

Flexible, Teamwork, Fast-Paced

Why should someone consider joining CAC?

For those who are considering joining the Cox Automotive Canada team, you should understand that just because we are a large company, it does not mean we are “just a number” – our senior leadership team really does listen to its employees.  We have a great benefit package and vacation time just to name a few perks.  This is a company where you can balance a family life along with a successful career.  The sky is the limit with our company.

Anything else you would like to say?

I would like to say thank you to our Senior Leadership team for everything they have done these past few years.  They have created a positive work environment for all employees to succeed while our world has been turned upside down.  CAC senior leadership team was able to provide employees with the ability to work from home over night and parents with the ability to take care of their children when schools were shut down, ensuring that employees still maintained a work life balance. The most important message was asking team members to take care of our mental health and our families during these unforeseen times.  I am very proud to be a part of the Cox Automotive Canada family and I look forward to spending my career with this company.
