“What I like most is that, in my role, I am constantly given new challenges to keep me engaged so I never even have a chance to be bored.”
As part of a monthly series that profiles a wide variety of jobs at Cox Automotive Canada, we sat down with Yazan Masoud, Associate Software Engineer, Dealertrack Canada.
What do you like most about your role and the team you have worked with?
What I like most is that, in my role, I am constantly given new challenges to keep me engaged so I never even have a chance to be bored. And with these new challenges, I’m super grateful I had a very helpful and supportive team of experts to guide me through my co-op term.
Do you think this co-op opportunity has been helpful to you in your educational growth?
This co-op opportunity has been more than helpful for my growth educationally. It’s given me the chance to develop my programming skills as well as how to collaborate with a team through agile methodology.
What skills do you feel you have enhanced or developed during your co-op term?
Over my co-op term here I’ve been given the chance to really develop my front-end development skills. I was not a very confident front-end developer before joining CAC but now I am leaving with it being one of my strongest software skills, especially with angular.
In 1-3 words, how would you describe working at CAC?
Welcoming, rewarding, challenging
Why should other students consider joining CAC for co-op?
I think the biggest reason students should join CAC for co-op is because of the amazing team. CAC will provide you with an excellent experience working with a very supportive cast around you. Not only is everyone friendly, but they’re very talented and will provide valuable insights; to be surrounded by so many experts willing to help you is a great opportunity to learn and grow.
