As a Canadian, I am very proud and excited to be celebrating our country’s 150th birthday this July 1. An anniversary as important as 150 years is particularly extraordinary for a country recognized around the world for its diversity and commitment to openness and equality.
While there is plenty for Canadians to be proud of during our sesquicentennial party—being held from coast to coast to coast—I also recognize that Canada can be a complex market to do business in. We are a geographically large land, we share two official languages and our diverse population is made up of various religions and beliefs. And yet despite some of the challenges that these characteristics can bring, we continue to welcome new opportunities and take on new challenges. That’s certainly the spirit I am familiar with as a Canadian and have also witnessed firsthand in my two years as president of Cox Automotive Canada.
This past quarter marked the second anniversary of Cox Automotive entering the Canadian market in 2015. Since then, our team has built a strong foundation to support the future of our business by establishing our brand as an industry leader and fortifying a strong dedication and commitment to our clients and business partners. And during the first six months of 2017, I am also proud to say Team Cox Automotive Canada has continued that momentum in all facets of our business.
Aside from continuing to grow and evolve our business for the future, I am also committed to continuing to support our Cox Automotive Canada core values: recognizing our people as our biggest resource and our customers as our blood line, diversity, embracing technology and new business development and supporting our local communities and contributing to a better world. As we grow stronger and stronger, I would like to ensure that our most valuable assets – our people – will continue to be top of mind.
As we all get together and celebrate Canada 150 this July 1, I can truly say I am not only proud to be Canadian, but also to be part of Team Cox Automotive Canada!
Happy Canada Day, everyone!
