Mississauga, ON.—August 28, 2019—The most important way for Canadian families to gain stability and self-reliance is when they own their own homes. However, more and more families find themselves struggling to keep a roof over their heads. That’s why Cox Automotive Canada, along with several like-minded industry partners, is proud to announce the first-ever Canadian Automotive Industry Build in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada, from September to November 2019.
As leaders in the auto industry, Cox Automotive Canada believes that we have a responsibility to get involved and support the communities where we do business. Habitat Canada’s team build is an opportunity to connect the industry to an important cause – helping build stronger communities by assisting families to achieve strength, stability and self-reliance.
However, we can’t do it alone. Kicking off on Wednesday, September 18, through to November, team members from Cox Automotive Canada, Canadian Black Book, CARFAX Canada, Desjardins, Hyundai Canada, Scotiabank and Used Car Dealers Association will get to swing a hammer on the first-ever Canadian Automotive Industry Build, working onsite and alongside future Habitat homeowners, community volunteers and seasoned Habitat construction staff.
In addition to the abovementioned Canadian Automotive Industry Build sponsors, Cox Automotive Canada is also excited to have onboard Bank of Montreal and TD Canada Trust as sponsors for this event. These members of the automotive industry are honoured to actively take a role in bettering our communities one family at a time.
“When people ask me why corporate social responsibility is so important, I think of the 238 families who partnered with Habitat Canada last year to build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership, as well as the hundreds more who will become Habitat homeowners this year,” said Maria Soklis, President of Cox Automotive Canada. “We, as an industry, have a unique opportunity to make a difference, and that is what we are going to do.”
