Moncton, N.B.—March 22, 2018—With over 200 guests in attendance, the grand opening of Cox Automotive Canada’s new Manheim Moncton auction yesterday was deemed a tremendous success.

Moncton Mayor, Dawn Arnold, joined Jack Sulymka, Director, Commercial Accounts and Operations for Manheim Canada, to assist with the ribbon cutting ceremony. Guests, who arrived an hour before the event got underway, were given a primary opportunity to network during the catered event, and took home more than $1,700 worth of raffle prizes.

Following the official grand opening ceremonies, Mark Chatfield, General Manager, Manheim Halifax, got down to business as a lead auctioneer at the event. Joining him in an adjacent lane was Steve Liptay, President and Head Auctioneer at Moncton’s The Great Northern Auction (TGNA). Last month, Manheim Canada officially announced its newly formed partnership with TGNA.

The first of what will be a weekly Manheim Moncton-hosted auction offered a strong mix of commercial and dealer vehicles; auctions are scheduled to run every Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. AST. Dealers who are unable to attend Manheim Moncton-hosted auctions in person will be able to see all vehicles broadcast live on simulcast. Detailed vehicle condition reports, along with a grading and vehicle history report, will also be available via Manheim.ca.

“We’re very pleased with how things unfolded today,” said Mark Chatfield, General Manager, Manheim Halifax, whose team will support Manheim Moncton. “We had impressive dealer attendance and excellent dealer participation, and the feedback has been great. Ultimately, we’re just really thrilled to have partnered with TGNA, a company that envelops the same core values and family backdrop that makes up Cox Automotive.”

Not only will the opening of Manheim Moncton better service the Atlantic Canada auto remarketing industry, the new facility joins the growing number of Manheim auctions across Canada, including Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax.
