Mississauga, Ont.—April 3, 2018—The annual Auto Remarketing Canada Conference and the associated Women & Automotive: Canadian Leadership Forum took place last week at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, Ontario. The annual events, which bring the remarketing and used-vehicle industries together for three days, offer learning, sharing, and networking opportunities.
This year, Cox Automotive Canada presented its 2018 Community Impact Award, three Cox Automotive Canada team members were recognized as Remarketing Under 40 honourees, and two of the company’s team members were honoured with prestigious awards during the Women & Automotive: Canadian Leadership Forum.
Cox Automotive Canada Community Impact Award
Corporate responsibility is one of Cox Automotive Canada’s core values. It was with great pleasure that CAC President, Maria Soklis, handed out this year’s Community Impact Award to Cayuga, Ontario-based Haldimand Motors during a luncheon at this year’s Auto Remarketing Canada Conference (see above photo).
On behalf of their family, Haldimand Motors’ Amy Huitema and Nic Edelman accepted the award that recognizes a remarketing industry leader for his or her outstanding contributions to the community. Haldimand Motors received $5000 for the charity of their choice, which will be distributed evenly among five different food banks within Haldimand County.
For more than 20 years, Haldimand Motors has played host annually to the Great Tricycle Race, an event that raises money for local food banks, community service clubs, fire departments, hockey associations, and high schools. Haldimand Motors also holds the SOUP’A’BOWL, in support of the Haldimand County Food Drive, ahead of Super Bowl Sunday each year.
Remarketing Under 40 awards
Three Cox Automotive Canada employees – Mo Ashoor, Alysha Bell and Igor Krupin – were also recognized at this year’s Auto Remarketing Canada Conference; all three were honoured with Remarketing Under 40 awards. Ashoor, Bell, and Krupin attended the conference, where they were presented with their awards during a luncheon last Thursday.
All three honourees, along with their peers, appeared in the March/April edition of Auto Remarketing Canada magazine. The issue, which was featured on-site at this year’s Auto Remarketing Canada Conference, and is currently for sale on newsstands, focuses on the various successes of numerous individuals in the automotive industry.
Women & Automotive Canadian Leadership Forum
Finally, two exceptional Cox Automotive Canada team members were presented with awards during last Thursday’s Women & Automotive: Canadian Leadership Forum.
Grace Kong, VP of Human Resources, Cox Automotive Canada, and Christine Bauer, Director, Dealer Services, Dealertrack Canada, not only received distinguished awards, but both were featured in a recent issue of Auto Remarketing Canada magazine.
As Canadian auto industry leaders, Kong and Bauer spoke about how other key leaders have influenced their personal style over the years, what they do to empower their team members, and how observations during previous experiences in other industries have helped them in the car business.
“Both the Auto Remarketing Canada Conference and the Women & Automotive: Canadian Leadership Forums provide great opportunities to share new industry trends, technologies, and recognize excellence in the Canadian remarketing industry,” said Cox Automotive Canada President, Maria Soklis. “I was very proud to see so many of our Cox Automotive Canada team members were honoured this year.”
