Cox Automotive Canada provides meals to those in need

During the months of July and August, Cox Automotive Canada (CAC) employees from coast-to-coast came together to give back to our communities, while keeping six feet apart. In these unprecedented times, even our efforts to support those in need – a long standing value to us as an organization – had to change, but the team adapted and delivered beyond expectations.

Working with local Food Banks in Edmonton, Milton, Mississauga, Montreal and Halifax, CAC employees put their volunteer efforts and hours toward gathering and purchasing food and other items for Canadian families in need. Team members worked individually and in teams to drop their donations off at our Manheim locations where the food was sorted and then delivered to each local Food Bank.

Combined with a financial donation from the organization, our Food Drive efforts supported Canadian communities with the equivalent of more than 7,500 meals – or roughly enough to feed 20 families of 4 for an entire month.

We are extremely proud of our team and want to thank everyone for your efforts during this time. During conversations with the Food Banks, it is clear how much need there is within our communities as so many people are struggling through this pandemic. Our individual donations may not have felt like much at the time, but our collective contributions were very much appreciated and are already making a big difference in the lives of our neighbours.

As we continue through these challenging times, stay tuned for more opportunities to give back to our communities and remember that all of our actions, however big or small, have a much larger impact than we think, so be kind and take care of one another.
