Cox Automotive Canada retains Blink Equity consultancy to steer HR and business practices on inclusion, diversity and equity
MISSISSAUGA, ON (June 29, 2021) – Cox Automotive Canada has selected Montreal-based Blink Equity to design, create and implement practices, programs and offerings that support building a more inclusive, diverse and equitable organization. Blink Equity will help enhance practices, such as recruitment, ways of working and educational mediums to further improve and establish a greater link with marginalized communities. The work will align with Cox Automotive Canada’s framework of “Educate, Celebrate and Inspire.”
Blink Equity will be responsible for enhancing metrics and evaluation tools to assess progress towards inclusion, diversity and equity (IDE) commitments. The scope of work also includes building inclusive practices through leadership and employee development, IDE resources and coaching opportunities focused on promoting more inclusive language and communication channels for all employees.
“Businesses need the best people to compete and that means fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace to attract and retain top talent from all cultures,” said Maria Soklis, President, Cox Automotive Canada & Brazil. “Blink Equity will afford Cox Automotive Canada a perspective and help to identify additional opportunities to build on our existing programs like the Black Employee Network. The auto industry’s global nature makes it imperative for more proactive and intuitive efforts around diversity. Cox Automotive Canada has been a leader in the Canadian automotive industry and will continue to take bold steps to encourage this change as sustainable into the future.”
“Blink Equity is thrilled to work with an organization like Cox Automotive Canada, which continues to distinguish itself through action to its commitment to diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces,” said Emiliano Void, Co-Founder and CEO of Blink Equity. “We look forward to the development and execution of transformational initiatives that create more equity within the organization as well as within the communities it services.”
Cox Automotive Canada’s workplace culture advocates for inclusion and fosters a dynamic environment that has been recognized as one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers while employees are regularly celebrated through industry accolades. The organization’s interest in equity also extends to the community. Cox Automotive Canada is supportive of businesses operated by Black entrepreneurs, such as Blink Equity.
“Cox Automotive Canada is proud to support young, talented entrepreneurs like the founders of Blink Equity who are poised to be the next generation of Black business leaders,” said Grace Kong, Chief People Officer, Cox Automotive Canada. “Words and pledges mean little without action, so we welcome opportunities to offer tangible support to Emiliano and other businesses founded or owned by Black individuals. This is the difference Cox Automotive Canada makes in fostering relationships that benefit communities.”
The scale of work will also spread beyond Canada to include support for Cox Automotive International’s IDE team. The aim is to bring the Black Employee Network employee resource group (ERG) into Cox Automotive International. Inspired by the organization’s Women with Drive (WWD) ERG, the Black Employee Network is a Cox Automotive Canada ERG for any team member interested in better understanding and combatting anti-Black and systemic racism. Through its three pillars of education, celebration and inspiration, the Black Employee Network will provide a safe and positive environment to discuss ideas and thoughts around inclusion and equality, and to play an active role in creating a better and more inclusive workplace and society for future generations.
